Eric Morier-Genoud

Eric Morier-Genoud is Professor of African History at Queen's University Belfast. He writes on history, politics, religion and conflict in Mozambique, Southern Africa and the Lusophone world. He is a regular contributor to newspapers, magazines and radio stations such the New York TImes, the Financial Times, the Economist, Le Monde, Publico, Visão, RDP-Rádio Portugal, Radio Vatican, Radio Suisse Romande, and The Conversation.

He presently investigates the history of the islamic insurgency in Northern Mozambique and is writing a biography of Bishop Lamont in Rhodesia for an edited volume he will publish about Irish Missionaries in the world. His most recent books are: "Towards Jihad. Muslims and Politics in Postcolonial Mozambique" (2023) and "Convertir l’empereur? Journal du missionnaire et médecin Georges-Louis Liengme" (2020).
