I've always been a writer, maybe even before I could write. Mundane things often sparked my imagination to create stories for the entertainment of my friends (and myself). I've always gotten a great deal of pleasure out of watching people react to my stories, and it's only gotten worse with age. I was born in a rural mountain town where my friends and I often made up stories, sometimes based on whatever cowboy movie was at the theater on Saturday, but just as often totally products of our imagination. There was no limit other than our imaginations, and we, at times created tales that were much better than what was on at the movie on Saturday! I must thank my older brother for introducing me to Edgar Allen Poe and his tales. My Bro had to memorize "The Raven" for school, and by the time he learned it I was hooked. "The Phantom of the Rue Morgue" caught my attention at the movies shortly after that, and I think that was when I realized that a story could, and maybe should, have a twist that surprises everyone. Anyway, that's part of how I got here. I have, in recent years, enjoyed Civil War and Revolutionary War reenacting. Wow, now there's a chance to create some stories and characters. I hope you will give "The Raptor" a look, and I sincerely believe that if you don't like the blood and gore, you might enjoy the "who done it", or empathize with two detectives who might be falling in love.
