Katie is from a small-town south of Chicago. Where she resides with her husband, and their beautiful daughter. They are a family who love to enjoy life and make the best out of every situation. Her favorite quote is by Roy T. Bennett, "Be, the reason someone smiles today. Be the reason someone feels loved and believes in the goodness of people'. At the age of 30, Katie was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Follicular Lymphoma, and as of September 2014, she has been in remission. She has always had a passion for art and writing poetry. It has always brought her a sense of peace in life, even when things were a little hectic. It wasn’t until her daughter Kennedy, stated that there were no books with her name. That lit a fire under Katie, and she wrote her first book, Kennedy and Her Colorful Capes. Katie realized, that with everything she has been through, that life is too short to let opportunities and LIFE pass her by. So, in October of 2017, Katie published, Kennedy and Her Colorful Capes. This creativity continued as she wrote more books about her life. More notably about her daughter Kennedy, who is an inspiration for all of her books. She has also written, Goodnight Sleep Tight No More Books Tonight, and her third book, A Pug for A Friend. Which is inspired by Kennedy and their family pet Lola. She is thankful for all of the love and support over the past years, and is reminded of how blessed she is. She hopes that each and every one of her stories touches the reader, and they receive her messages of love, life, and family.
