I was born on December 19th, a week before Christmas. Being born on this date means I’m a Sagittarius in Western astrology and a Horse in Eastern astrology. As a horse crazy young girl who watched the horse races every Saturday and begged at every opportunity to go riding, I was always impressed I was associated with horses. I did love archery in junior high and was on the team.

I will be forever grateful to my sixth-grade teacher Mr. Goodman. On Friday afternoons, he’d give us a prompt for a story and let us write whatever we wanted. He and his wife would read them over the weekend and give us a review the next week where he would point out spelling and grammar mistakes and give gentle suggestions for the body of the story. I had so much fun.

My passion for writing was met by my passion for art. I wanted to be an artist, but my mom convinced me that it was not a money-making proposition and told me to be an art teacher. Bored in school and not wanting to continue, I did attend the local community college for a year and then dropped out to find a job in the then booming business of electronic production. Even worked for a few years building tiny modules under a microscope. My fingerprints are in the original Space Shuttle.

An avid reader, I read in multiple genres, but I always come back to fantasy. Whether it be vampires inspired by Ann Rice or the Dragons of PERN by Anne McCaffery, I enjoy visiting places beyond my ken. My books focus on the everyday fantasy that surrounds us. Things that make you look twice.
