Kristin McGlothlin served as the Assistant Curator of Education at the Norton Museum of Art and was the Docent Coordinator at the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art. McGlothlin has held other positions from instructor to coordinator throughout her career in art organizations and academic institutions. She has a B.A. in Art History and a B.A. and M.A. in English. She is the author of the children's picture book Andy's Snowball Story. Her poems have been published in the literary magazine Coastlines and read on Travel with Rick Steves. McGlothlin's short story The Red Door was a finalist in the Florida Weekly 2018 Writing Challenge. McGlothlin’s debut novel, Drawing with Whitman, won the 2019 Moonbeam Silver Medal for Pre-Teen Fiction and the 2020 Readers’ Favorite International Book Award Honorable Mention Children Grades 4th-6th. Drawing with Whitman and Listen are books one and two in the middle-grade four-book Sourland Mountain Series. The third book in the series titled Country of the Birch Trees will be available in Spring 2022.
