Mike Mazzilli

Mike Mazzilli was born in Brooklyn and raised in Staten Island, NY and Phoenix, AZ, where he began writing poetry and short stories at age 14. At 16, he got his GED and made an unaccompanied move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting, but soon after, discovered his love for the technical side of filmmaking and screenwriting. After a 3 year bout with Lyme disease, he moved back to New York for continued treatment and higher education.

After 8 years as a filmmaker, ghostwriter, audio technician, and editor in New York City, Mike recently moved back to Los Angeles where he works as a screenwriter, lyricist, author, and occasional filmmaker.

His debut poetry anthology, 14 Through 24, received critical acclaim from some small traditionalist poetry communities, persuading him to wide-release the collection.

Mike continues to release poetry on instagram while working on his follow-up to 14 Through 24.
