Anneke Laurens

Anneke Laurens is a writer who grew up in the Netherlands and lived in Canada and England. Before becoming a full-time author she worked as a teacher, translator and interpreter. She is the author of several books: novels, children’s books and literary essays. She also writes poetry and was awarded a distinction in the Sussex Poet of the Year Competition in 1987.

Anneke Laurens graduated from McGill University in Montreal. She has a Master’s degree in Literature. She wrote her thesis on allegiance and alienation in colonial literature. Title: The Double Exile in Three Novels of the West Indies: Colonial Encounters of the Third Kind.

She now lives in France with her husband and two cats.
