Ken Harper

Ken Harper (1948-2018) was born in Skokie, Illinois 1948. He graduated from York High School, Elmhurst, Illinois 1966. After a year in the army in Danang, Vietnam, Ken Harper received a BA from the University of Illinois in Urbana where he met and married Ingrid Harper. He received a MA from the University of New Hampshire. In 1982 he attended the Iowa Writers Workshop. Ken Harper was a freelance journalist for The Des Moines Register, The Cleveland Plain Dealer and In These Times. He was a book reviewer and cultural affairs reporter for the Christian Science Monitor. From 1990 to 2018 Ken Harper was the director of marketing for large corporations within the computer industry.

Ken Harper was a wonderful story teller who had the rapt attention of old and young.
