My birth family consisted of 10 kids who lived with our devoted parents in central Maine during the mid 1900's. We had little of the world's goods but plenty of love and hard work. Although our parents endured long hours of work caring and providing for us kids, they relied on the Lord to carry them through threatening and tragic times. I was not the model child, and only time caused me to value all the sacrifices our parents made for us "tunks", as Daddy called us.
Following college, I taught school for three years before marrying and for two years after our three children were born. Since I so enjoy children, I now assist teachers at a local Christian school.
My first book, Monster in the Wall, is a humorous yet true anecdote of our two grandsons' experience with our furry cat. Since the episode frightened the boys, I wrote a story to help allay their baseless fears. I later realized all children could benefit from a sensible approach to their fears, so I published the picture book. My current book, Wealth Beyond Riches, recounts my growing-up years with nine other rambunctious kids. It deals with core values of honesty, discipline, perseverance and faith in the Lord. Although it reads like the Little House books, it is geared for young adults, and the setting is Maine 100 years later.
