B.R. Forbes is a historian and storyteller committed to illuminating Scotland’s rich, intricate past and the people who shaped it.

He also founded the Scottish‑American Women’s Society of Washington, D.C., recruiting its first board of directors and hosting its in augural meeting in his home.

Forbes revitalized the Clan Forbes Society, incorporating the current organization after the original had gone dormant. As its primary content creator, he built a digital presence that now features more than 70 static pages, over 170 blog posts, and more than 20 biographies. The website attracts over 28,000 users annually, the monthly newsletter reaches more than 800 readers, and the Facebook page has grown to over 2,700 followers. He has led Forbes Heritage Tours in Scotland in 2022, 2024, and 2026, and maintains active relationships with key clan figures, including Clan Chief Malcolm, Lord Forbes of Castle Forbes, and Alexander D. Forbes of Druminnor Castle.

Recognized as the foremost authority on the House of Forbes, his work draws deeply from primary documents, historical manuscripts, and a broad literary tradition. His scholarship reveals the human drama behind political alliances, clan rivalries, and the religious and cultural upheavals that shaped early modern Scotland.

He resides in Texas with his husband, Antonio Uribe, Jr.
