Toy, a native of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, resides in Maryland with her sons, Damon Jr. and Daa’im, whom she considers her greatest gifts from God and to mankind. She is a devoted mother, business-woman, writer, philanthropist and mental wellness advocate. Toy’s the proud Founder and CEO of Inspirations Enterprises, LLC, home of Inspirations for Women Network, Inspirations Gifts and Baskets and a myriad of subsidiaries that exists to equip, edify and empower people to be healed and live purposefully. Additionally, she’s the Founder and Executive Director of Inspirations for Women, Inc., a non-profit organization with a mission to heal and inspire women and their families to live on purpose.

Her devotion to serving as an inspiration was birthed after enduring and overcoming some of life's most devastating situations, such as depression, suicidal ideation, and attempts, which nearly ended her life. Today, Ms. James is a fighter who is determined to encourage others to fight for their lives regardless of life's circumstances.

Toy’s message of hope and purposeful living can be seen in her writings, public speaking, events such as PJ’s & Purpose ® and LIVE! Beyond the Pain! Gala, and community initiative, LIVE! (Life Is Victorious Everyday!), a suicide and depression campaign. She's the author of the Her Story HIS Glory anthology series and contributor in the Daily Dose series; Daily Dose of Declarations and Daily Dose of Divine Inspiration for Mother’s.

Ms. James’ inspiration and success in her life and ministry is attributed to her stance on the Word of God. She particularly favors Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) which states, “for I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” and Romans 8:18 (NKJV) where we’re told, “…that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” These scriptures assure her that God’s plan for her life is greater than any pain she may experience.
