Aprille Pappas

Aprille Pappas is the author of OATMEAL UNHINGED. As it was her favorite room in their home she spent hours in the kitchen during her childhood when she watched her parents prepare amazing foods. This personal drive continues to the present.

Despite her love for baking and cooking, Aprille was drawn to several careers, including television broadcasting, legal and medical marketing and computer imaging, after which she went on to write a drama-comedy series for television and most recently has authored a simple cookbook about one of her favorite foods.

Aprille was born and raised in southern Michigan where she lived until starting her first career in television broadcasting as a weather announcer in Traverse City, as a live daytime show host in Green Bay, as a news anchor and news reporter in Tallahassee, and as a sports and commercial announcer in Green Bay. As time went on, her communication skills paved the way to a marketing and sales career in the medical/legal industry and the health insurance field in Philadelphia.

Next, Aprille became smitten with a new technology called computer imaging and pioneered a service business that provided major cosmetic companies with highly successful promotions and programs. As the technology advanced, her business was transformed into yet another new industry, cosmetic surgery imaging, a service performed for surgeons and patients that showed how the patient image could change with plastic surgery. Revered as a renowned imaging expert, Aprille launched an exclusive Internet imaging and consulting service that provided computer imaging direct to consumers. Despite its success, there was a demand shift from consumers to cosmetic and plastic surgeons, hence her consulting business that provided plastic surgery marketing for cosmetic surgeons nationwide. Following retirement from business, it was her love for dogs that inspired her to write her fist major project, a television drama-comedy set in a veterinary center after which she began work two books including a young adult novel and a non-fiction book.

Aprille’s passion for business has been paralleled through the years by her love of baking and cooking that began as a child when she mimicked her mother in the kitchen with her toy stove and saw the happiness that homemade cooking brought to faces of the lucky recipients. It is that sense of joy that inspired her to write a cookbook that everyone could use to prepare delicious and beautiful variations of her life-long favorite breakfast food, oatmeal. Along with the wonderful experience of having a family and businesses, writing has become one of the most rewarding accomplishments in her life, especially making people happy with her culinary creations.
