Thomas E. Hill

Born in 1943, Thomas E. (Ed) Hill grew up in the Mississippi Delta on a farm where hard work and hard play went hand in glove. He and his band of buddies enjoyed the wildness of life in the country near the bayou where all kinds of adventures awaited. Having God-fearing Christian parents and living next door to the Baptist church his family attended (unless there was a serious illness preventing it), young Ed knew very well the difference between right and wrong, although there seemed to be quite a broad streak of gray area when it came to playing pranks or exploring the boundaries of his environment.

After completing his studies at Delta State College, he treated hundreds of wounded soldiers as a medic in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. Later he applied his education and experience to a fulfilling profession in the healthcare field.

Many of the writings assembled in "Hills in the Delta" were originally published in the author’s local newspaper, The Grenada Star. This collection of short stories is Mr. Hill’s first book. He is now working on his second book, which focuses on his adult years.
