Brett was trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) by a CBT expert Dr. Andrew Shack during his graduate training. He is a member of the International Honor Society in Psychology – Psi Chi.
Minoring in Philosophy during his undergraduate degree, Brett has developed thorough analytical skills to contemplate the function and mechanical components of various psychological concepts. With this background, he applies this analytical thinking to his therapeutic practice to fine-tune his clinical approach with clients struggling. Brett enjoys the interpersonal dynamic in general therapy practice, while utilizing coaching principles to help others change and manage more specific problematic behaviors, such as substance abuse. He designed a model to explain any substance-use behavior, and to help culture approach addiction and substance misuse with more precision. This model is introduced in his book - Addiction Reform.
