He is an early pioneer of food cooperatives for low-income families and the founder and former Exec. Director of Urban Recipe (urbanrecipe.org). Much of his work has centered around how the church might be faithful working in situations of poverty; his efforts have focused on creating oases of food security and supportive community for people under stress. He is the pastor of Georgia Avenue Church in Grant Park, Atlanta. "Forgive Us This Day Our Daily Bread" is his first book.
