About Howie Gordon

Howie Gordon was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Cinco de Mayo in 1948. He has been a writer since he began his first journal at the age of 17. He is now 71 and has just begun his 168th volume. Along the way, he has held a wide variety of jobs which have given him much to write about. Beginning as a gas station attendant, he moved on to work as a shoe salesman, a warehouseman putting toys together for Xmas displays, a sportswriter, a crewman on a yacht, a production crewman on Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, a Manpower Specialist in The War On Poverty, a streetworker working with youth gangs, a house painter, a commercial model and actor, a Playgirl Centerfold and Man-of-the-Year for 1979-80, a Hall of Fame Adult Film Actor, Writer, and Director, a freelance magazine writer and videographer, a writer and director of children's plays, a little league and pony league baseball coach, the manager of a men's softball team called THE BAD NEWS JEWS, and now a memoirist with two recently published books, HINDSIGHT and RETURN TO SQUIRREL HILL. Mr. Gordon has been married to the same woman for 44 years. They have 3 married children and 4 grandchildren.
