Geneva Grace Kellam

Thanks for checking my author’s page. I’m Geneva Grace Kellam, a Central Park volunteer gardener’s assistant. I walk or cycle in Central Park every day that I’m in town and it’s not raining.

Before When You Die in Central Park I won awards as an advertising copywriter at the legendary Doyle Dane Bernbach, Wells Rich Greene, BBDO, and UniWorld. During most of that time it was my continuing pleasure to walk from the Upper West Side to midtown through the park.

When You Die in Central Park is my first fiction book. However, I co-wrote two non-fiction books, Entertain Me and Don’t Forget the Rubber Ducky, as part of The Riverside Mothers Group. Both were published by PocketBooks. My articles have been published in Cosmopolitan, Lear’s, Women and Minorities in Business and Chocolate Singles.

Like most people, I’m a blend of sometimes seemingly contradictory elements:

· Born in Harlem Hospital. Graduated Vassar College.

· Founding member of Black Spectrum Theater Company. Introvert.

· Great granddaughter of enslaved Africans. Widow of Mayflower descendant.

A mix shows up in When You Die in Central Park, in which rich, poor, white, black, straight, gay, loners, groups, alive and dead share (sometimes unaware) the magic land in the center of New York City.
