Vincent Heeringa is a New Zealand writer who spends too much time aimlessly staring into space thinking about mutant robots when he should be tidying his room. Or doing a proper job. By day he works as a marketing and advertising consultant, dreaming up new ways to make things like life insurance more interesting than a damp rag. After hours he plays drums and generally shirks responsibility so he can write sci-fi and hang with his wife Sarah, also an author, and their four kids. They don't always want to hang with him.
Vincent was born in Wellington, New Zealand, to Dutch immigrant parents and is the last (and clearly the best) of seven kids. He earned degrees in biochemistry and history, though reckons he can barely remember anything from his studies. "I loved telling stories from day dot and became a journalist so I could get paid to spin yarns. Amazingly it worked."
Vincent went on to become one of New Zealand's most successful magazine writers and then publishers, winning more than 30 awards for his journalism, magazines, websites and books.
