Welcome friend. I look forward to the prospect of our ongoing engagement as we seek together to learn, understand and address what are arguably the greatest threats facing humanity today: the all but certain arrival of the prophetic scenario described in the book of Revelation.
Please follow my blog to remain apprised of the latest reflecting, thinking and acting as we slowly but surely navigate through the contents of my evolving Body of Work.
Prior to writing this Body of Work, I acquired over 20 years of professional leadership and management experience with international humanitarian and development programs. My work has included strategic planning, organization and management, monitoring and evaluation, proposal writing, fund development, information management, technical assessment, data analysis, budgeting, finance, socio-economic and environmental analyses, and high level advocacy and mobilization.
I currently serve as Academic Dean at Missional University's School of Ecological Mission, teaching and shaping graduate and undergraduate curricula in socio-ecological systems and resilience.
I have extensive experience in international environmental, public health and international security issues. I have provided effective and efficient management for the United Nations, UN sponsored programs, private industry, and international development programs.
I have worked across 36 countries or more, most of which have been in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as the United States, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. My field roles have included WHO PAHO Desk Officer for Latin America and the Caribbean, World Vision International Regional Community Resilience and Disaster Risk Reduction Advisor for Latin America and the Caribbean, Samaritan's Purse Country Director, Ecology and Environment Inc Data Manager on a 100 million dollar UN claim program following Gulf War I, and World Resources Institute Data Specialist on the biennial World Resources Report co produced with the World Bank, UNDP and UNEP.
In 2020, Yale School of Management invited me to co develop their graduate course Leading in a Global Crisis. I coined the term Preventive Diplomacy in a graduate paper, subsequently taken up in academic and policy circles. My graduate specialization in Environmental Finance was formed under Herman Daly, founder of the steady state ecological framework and former senior economist at the World Bank Environment Department.
I have extensive experience (20 plus external engagements) as speaker, panelist and discussant at Global and Regional Platforms for Disaster Risk Reduction, the International Disaster Risk Conference and World Risk Forum in Davos Switzerland, the World Conference on Humanitarian Studies, UNICEF, the World Bank, the Society for International Development, the World Health Organization, and the InterAmerican Association of Sanitary Engineering and Environmental Sciences.
In my most recent roles I have served as Country Director and Disaster Response Director for leading Christian international non governmental organizations.
I have been a long standing member of a Latin America and Caribbean Regional and US Rapid Response Team, with deployments to Hurricane Maria in 2017 to 2018, the Northern Triangle and Mexico Unaccompanied Children, Migrant and Refugee Crisis from 2014 to 2016, the Port au Prince Haiti Earthquake in 2010, the Tabasco Flood in Mexico in 2007, and Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
My education includes a PhD in Systematic Theology from Trinity Bible College and Theological Seminary with academic distinctions and a 4.0 cumulative GPA, a Joint MBA and Master of Public Policy and Management from the University of Maryland at College Park with graduate specializations in Entrepreneurship, International Security, Environmental Policy and Public Finance, a BA in Economics from the University of Maryland University College, and a BS in Industrial Design from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
My Body of Work is an evolving multi volume theological and apologetic project addressing resilience, witness, and the eschatological scenario described in the book of Revelation.
Thank you once again for considering to go with me on the road less travelled, a road that ultimately requires we become progressively more resilient physically, mentally, emotionally, psychologically and most importantly spiritually, as we approach the imminent eschatological scenario as described in the book of Revelation.
Yours faithfully on the journey,
Steve
