Al Levin is an urban public school administrator. He is also a staunch mental health advocate who has publicly shared his story of two bouts of major depression, one of which was debilitating to the point in which he needed to check himself into a partial hospitalization program.
Al has a blog that focuses on depression and other mental illnesses, suicide prevention & awareness, and the stigma. He also has a podcast in which he interviews men who have struggled with depression and/or other mental illnesses. Both can be found at TheDepressionFiles.com.
Al has been published in The Mighty, The Huffington Post, Psych Central, The Recovery Letters, and Made For More: Mental Health Edition. Al was also featured in Esperanza Magazine: Al Levin: Helping Men Face Depression.
Al lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota with his wife and four children.
