Sean McCormack

Sean is a veterinarian, willdife conservationist, TV presenter, podcaster and author. Originally from Co. Kilkenny and growing up in Co. Kildare, Ireland, Sean is a nature and animal lover and spent his childhood out exploring in nature with his family terriers Sheba and Suki. He was obsessed with wildlife and animals as a child, and knew that he wanted to be a vet (or maybe a zookeeper!) from a very young age.

After his degree in Animal Science, which had a focus on animal behaviour, conservation, nutrition and welfare, Sean went on to study Veterinary Medicine in Dublin, with extra modules in canine behaviour, and zoo and wildlife medicine.

He then spent the next 6 years working in various zoo, domestic and exotic pet vet practices, which brought him to London. In 2016 he left full time clinical vet work to work as an industry veterinary consultant and make time to return to his true passion of wildlife conservation. He set up and runs Ealing Wildlife Group, a wildlife conservation community volunteering group in West London. He is the project lead and license holder on The Ealing Beaver Project, Britain's first publicly accessible urban Beaver reintroduction project. Sean is extremely passionate about the value and role of nature connection and access to nature for emotional and mental wellbeing, and the importance of engaging young and diverse audiences with nature, planet and the environment.
