John Moyle

John Moyle has established himself over many years of service in the non-profit healthcare industry, providing care to underserved populations, both as a nurse practitioner and healthcare advocate. His unique perspective derives from working at a level-one trauma center, several nonprofit clinics, and one of the largest medical insurance companies in the nation. Moyle has made a career out of providing medical care for patients with complex needs who have limited access to healthcare services. His dedication to patient safety and increased access to medical care have motivated him to help patients anticipate common problems, effectively manage their benefits, and overcome challenges related with their healthcare needs.

As a long-time patient himself, he is highly aware of the many difficulties that accompany coordinating one’s own healthcare. While navigating through public and private healthcare systems, he’s experienced many barriers and complex issues associated with his personal medical care, such as being given incorrect information and thousands of dollars in expected expenses. As an adolescent, Moyle experienced many years without health insurance and was at the mercy of nonprofit community clinics, county hospitals, and FQHCs. It’s that experience which drove him into health care, with a mission to work with patients who are underinsured or uninsured completely, or have other barriers preventing them from receiving optimal (and affordable) medical care.!

Moyle graduated with a Master’s of Science in Nursing degree as an AANPCP certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. He holds an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license, a registered nurse license, an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner certification, and an HIV Specialist certification through the AAHIVM.

He currently works as a nurse practitioner in a non-profit clinic and a patient care advocate for a large health insurance company. This experience, along with that of his own healthcare journey, provide a uniquely advantageous perspective from which his book was founded.
