Luis Belmonte

I began my career in the real estate business in 1968 by renovating a 2-flat building, one unit of which that had doubled as a Chinese takeout food service. We scraped a multi-year accumulation of grease off the walls. My second project was a place that had doubled as a dog kennel. I eventually built industrial buildings all over the United States, Mexico, Singapore and Japan.

In my so-called golden years, I still do some small deals. I have been the recipient of the ultimate career blessing. I found a way to make a living that I like so much I've kept doing it long after I ceased needing the money it produced. I turned a business into a hobby.
