The sweetest gay gorehound in the Midwest, Aaron Eischeid is a native Iowan residing in Chicago with his charmer of a gecko, Gavin. When not found at his day job or in the Paradigm Shift Productions office, he wanders, he bakes or gleefully tries to scare you to death. Angel to some. Demon to others.
A film freak forever, Aaron has been a horror fanatic since the tender age of 8 when he first saw John Carpenter’s Halloween on a sneaked-in Blockbuster VHS tape. Also a queer kid since always, Aaron carries a unique, challenging and nerdy view of the world that has parlayed into the creative endeavor in which you see here as well as work with other artists in the entertainment world.
What does that view entail? It is a belief system that lurks beyond the status quo in a place where limits exist in name only, but not in practice. The world is a rich, diverse place filled with joy, humor, tears, rage and fear. The human experience is to feel (or, occasionally, not) and per personal philosophy, fear is the basest emotion of which all others stem. The discomfort, the terror, the nerves and the wonder of what fantastical things also lurk in this place beyond the norm are notions brimming with stories waiting to be told. Stories filled with MONSTERS! BLOOD! SEX! IDENTITY! RELIGION! Bold, free and truthful themes writ large that many yearn to explore but few dare to mine too deep. This unnerving blend of the emotional and the fantastical is the belief. It ensures that the limits reality binds us become malleable and inventive and, most importantly, exist no further.
Professionally, Aaron is a screenwriter/author/director with dabbles in other artistic arenas, providing for a strong variety of skill sets and a love for collaboration. Personally, he also is a vocal queer activist, avid Cher fan and thinks fuzzy creatures are the cure for any blues of the day. Oh, and he makes one hell of a cheesecake. Just ask.
