D. C. Weiser

Poet, novelist, philosopher, journalist, and historian, Dennis Charles (D. C.) Weiser is the author of CRASH DUMMIES, POEMS FOR ECONOMISTS, and the three-volume SINISTER DYNAMIC Global Governance and the Reconstruction of Nature. Dennis has worked as deckhand on the Mississippi, curator at a commercial art gallery, food and beverage manager at a theater company, weekly columnist for The Kansas City Business Journal, book reviewer for National Public Radio affiliate station KCUR, and therapist in the field of mental health; he also taught middle school science, advanced creative writing, and undergraduate philosophy. His parable of race-hatred and genocide, Excellence, was the featured “Original Fiction” in the April 2004 issue of the science fiction-and-fantasy webzine, The Illuminata (the editor called it: “Twilight Zone-esque”). An excerpt from CRASH DUMMIES (“Tzytzyan Ysalane”) won First Prize for Prose Fiction at the 2004 Chicago Printers Row Book Fair and was published in Things That Go Bump in the Night (Outrider Press 2004). D. C. Weiser has read his work at The Writers Place, KC Writers Festival, and Westminster College. His articles, poems and stories have appeared most recently in The Five-Two: Crime Poetry Weekly, and The Hungry Chimera. On October 27, 2018, he and Chelsey Tighe gave a public performance of The Song of Strawberry at the Uptown Arts Bar. In April 2019, Wipf and Stock, Inc. of Eugene, Oregon published NEW INSTITUTES A Primer of Practical Theology for Twenty-First-Century America as a RESOURCE Publications imprint. D. C. Weiser is currently writing a book about Jonathan Edwards and a history of modern advertising. He lives in Kansas City, Missouri’s Westport Entertainment District.
