Julius Strid

I’m a builder enjoying rowing and sailing what I build. My first book is about construction of a faering but I have also built skin-on-frame boats. I recently built a Greenland-style kayak and a small pram intended for our larger boat. The pram was intended but it has turned out to be too small for me so it will go to my nephew’s son.

I’m currently working on another Norse boat, plans available by the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, Denmark. They call it the Gislinge boat. It will be larger and a challenge to build. I plan to publish my resulting diary for this build as well.

I completed building an outdoor wood-fired brick bread oven. I published my second book, the build diary of this oven.
