PETE O'KEEFFE

Pete was born in Perth, Australia, grew up in Hamilton, New Zealand, attended Sacred Heart Boarding College in Auckland, NZ and worked in the Police for 18 years in South Auckland and Blenheim. He started his first business at the age of 40 and ran another two, before moving to England and starting another business there.

Having been involved in four business start-ups, Pete understands the difficulties of maintaining a business and a functioning family amidst the ‘noise and clutter’ that dominate our lives today. Pete certainly made a hash of both his businesses and family at various times. Having realised his mistakes (and good points), he brings a clarity and understanding of how to keep both in perspective.

This book is a culmination of Pete’s life learnings on running a business and a family at the same time. It is written unequivocally from a man’s perspective and looks at how our emotions or lack of them, can affect both family and business. It is raw at times and emotional but brutally honest.

If this book keeps just one business running as opposed to ending in financial ruin, or keeps one family together and intact, then it will have served its purpose.
