Annie Tucker

I’m Annie (proper name Angela but I think that sounds too serious) and I started writing as a young girl back in the eighties and became known amongst my classmates as the girl who only wrote stories about animals. But what do you expect when at one point I was not only growing up with 4 dogs, 6 cats, 2 chinchillas, 2 rabbits and 2 guinea pigs, 3 fish tanks and a few hamsters too BUT I also worked in a veterinary surgery at weekends and holidays.

Grown-up life pressed the pause button on my writing until I had babies and suddenly a whole world of children’s books opened up to me, reminding of all the stories I loved as a kid and igniting the desire to write a book of my own, and Voila – here is Orrcry a story that has taken me almost 3 years to get from ideas scribbled on scraps of paper to a proper book.

I live on the (sometimes sunny) South Coast of England with my lovely hubby and two gorgeous boys. Our house isn’t quite as zoo-like it was when I was a kid but we have 2 cats – Belle who dribbles when happy and Tappy who knocks things off tables when wanting to be fed. In case you are wondering, our real Tappy cat isn’t a Scottish Wildcat but actually a lazy ginger cat with an overwhelming love of duvets and catnip. We also have a ridiculously cute but dim dog called Daisy.

I've got a number of other stories up my sleeve and am looking forward to sharing them with you soon.
