“Anything worth doing is worth doing well” has been my credo in the legal field (30 years) and as a notary public (10 years). After 4 years of tolerating mediocre logbooks, I decided to create my ultimate notary journal.

Over 2 years, I (1) researched the laws of all 50 U.S. states regarding (a) permissible notarial acts (b) various recording requirements and (c) book size & binding requirements (2) analyzed ~500 existing journals and the collective complaints of notaries who had bought them and (3) created my ultimate journal entry. But my research revealed one other crucial advantage that no notary should be without . . . protection!

Picking a notary journal that helps protect you and your commission is essential, especially because the steps to earn and maintain a notary commission are often expensive and arduous (passing the exam, fingerprinting & background checks every 4 years, bonding & insurance, filing your oath).
