Bill Czappa

Bill has been an artist all of his life. Born in 1947 and raised in the Venice area of California, he made his first kinetic sculpture when he was 14. He graduated from Santa Monica College in 1972 with a degree in art and continued making art becoming a California Assemblage Sculpture. Now some fifty years later he has assembled an imposing body of work. He has maintained his own personal art gallery for 35 years showing his work exclusively. In 2016 he had his 50 year retrospective at the Creative Art Center in Burbank.

He also became a writer in 1986 after getting his first computer a necessary tool he would need. The word processor allowed him to write some 50 short stories and 8 books. 25

of his short stories have been published in the local newspapers in Burbank where his studio ended up. Bill uses William for his writers name just to separate his two vocations. There are now 3 documentary shorts about him and his art work.
