Laura Hansen

Laura Hansen’s first book was "A Little Unorthodox: A High School Handbook for Instructors" (2019), which she wrote in 2016-2018 as she finished her teaching career. She also began writing about how we survive health challenges a few years after battling cancer during 2008-2009. Her second book is about this very topic, entitled "Thriving through Cancer" (2020). Ironically, Laura is fighting Metastatic Breast Cancer now, diagnosed in 2023. She wonders if she should change her 2020 book to "Thriving through Cancer...Just Kidding!"

Next, delving into fiction, Laura writes about young Rebecca, who is ripped away from a compassionate elementary school and tossed into a nightmare of a private school in the 1970s. Rebecca quickly learns that St, Sebastian is an institution rife with bullying. "Rebecca's Rules" and "Priests, Poetry, and Power" (2024) are the first two books of five in "The Surviving St. Sebastian Series."
