You know how people would go visit their grandparents on the weekends? Kids always outside playing until dark and always having friends over with lots of laughter? Well that was my family!

My parents always taught my brothers and sisters right from wrong and to be respectful to others. They started keeping foster children when we were in elementary school, so there was always younger children in our family. We learned about loss when we were young, as my grandmother died from cancer when I was 9. We learned about sorrow when the foster children that we had cared for months, and some years, had to be returned to their families. We also had a lot of happy times. I can remember sitting at the kitchen table and we would laugh until we cried. I had a great childhood.

I got married when I was young and I had my two sons. The marriage didn’t last, but from this I had two perfect children. They are smart, talented and they have grown into amazing men of which I am very proud.

As time went by I was blessed with a grandson and a granddaughter and a lot of nieces and nephews. What a blessing they all have been.

My husband saw me for the first time when I was sitting on the porch working on my first book. He is the reason I started working on my books again. I should have published my writings years ago, but it is easy to put things to the side and think, I will do it later.

I know as a parent we teach our children lessons, but I know my children taught me a lot too. These books are lessons I learned from my childhood and the things I learned from my children. I am still learning things now even though I am an adult. There is always one thing in life that is constant and that is change, so there will always be a lesson learned.
