G. D. Locks

G.D. (aka Karen Lucas) was born and raised in New Jersey. She graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in Textiles and Apparel to pursue a career in fashion. For the next 14 years she worked in various retail stores in the Washington, D.C. area. But all those stores are now just a memory, so she realized it was time to take a new career path. She moved from accessories buyer to IT software developer (with the help of a second degree in IT Systems Development), eventually rising through the ranks of the Federal Government to Deputy Director for Business Services. With retirement from Federal Service, she finally went back to her love of fashion as a Personal Stylist., but an author was still never on her radar. That was until Fred came along. Thanks to a fun-loving family, and non-fruitcake lovers, Tale of the Traveling Fruitcake came from a long standing family tradition that all loved, as long as they were not Fred’s caretaker.
