Lucia Wilson is a British-born Anglo-Burmese writer of poetry, lyrics and stories for all ages. She is a member of SACEM and PRS and lives in London. Lucia’s novella, The Karloff Tiara, is also available on Amazon as is the album, SHOW, by Victor de Sveynes.
Face to Face with Strabismus is the co-creation of Lucia Wilson, writer, and Francesca Cesari, photographer (www.francescacesari.com).
Cedric the bear is the original creation of Katie Eggington (nee Mantell).Katie is the designer and creative force behind Creative Threads. (creative-threads.co.uk).
Both Cedric and Katie were featured in the BBC programme, Paul Martin's Handmade Revolution in 2012. Katie was one of the winning designers and Cedric was proudly displayed in the V&A Museum shop. On seeing the rerun of the programme in 2016, Lucia decided to approach Katie (they had never met before) to discuss creating a series of children’s stories based on Cedric. Anne Bowes, a talented illustrator and jewellery designer (www.annebowesjewellery) joined the project and has created some delightful illustrations, full of charm and energy.
Lucia is the writer of all three stories - Cedric at the Museum, Cedric and the Button Bear and Cedric in Paris. She consulted closely with Katie throughout the process to ensure that she captured Cedric's own unique character because Cedric is a bear like no other! You can find out more at www.cedricthebear.com and www.luciawilson.co.uk. You can read an extract from Cedric and the Button Bear on Youtube.
Other children's books by Lucia include Millie and the Pirate Moon, with delightful illustrations by Anne Bowes and Millie Wilson, Costa a Cat in Corfu and Reggie Ruby, the Pirate of the Trees, written by Lucia and wonderfully illustrated by Frans Wesselman. You can find out more about his work at www.fwstainedglass.co.uk (Frans creates beautiful glass art as well).
