Sharon Holderman

Sharon Holderman, a professor and coordinator of public services in the Volpe Library at Tennessee Tech University, has over 25 years of experience in higher education. She began in academic advising and transitioned to libraries in 2005. She has served on and chaired many committees at the university level as well as in state, regional, and national library organizations.

Sharon holds a bachelor’s in English from Mercer University and two masters’ degrees from Kent State University, one in media management and one in library science. She also has a master’s in leadership from Creighton University. Her other areas of academic interest include financial literacy, policies, records management, and library career services. She has published two book chapters as well as articles in The Journal of Academic Librarianship, Journal of New Librarianship, College & Research Libraries News, Library Leadership & Management, and Tennessee Libraries.
