Sean Williams

Sean Williams was born into the arms of his parents, Bill and Vicky on Thanksgiving in 1980 in Newark, NJ. Introduced to adversity at an early age, he became creative out of necessity, a means to overcome the hardship of growing up poor. His younger years were filled with straight A's and baseball trophies. As a teen, he flunked science but found writing. Shortly after Sean became an adult, his father, who was very ill and didn't work, was forced to make dark decisions and travel down questionable avenues to provide for his family. Sean followed suit until his home life and financial insecurities compelled him to become more and more reckless. He eventually made a choice that would change his life forever, which he touches upon frequently in his poetry and prose.

Creatively, Sean never stopped producing things worthy of merit. His prodigious output, however, doesn’t confine itself to one genre or creative realm. At 17, he won a statewide billboard design contest for his anti-racism PSA. At 21, he published his first poem in Roomful of Starlight. At 29, he scripted, directed and acted in two short horror films during his time at Union County College. He received his degree in Graphic Design at age 31. At 35, he was asked to read one of his literary pieces at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s WAMFEST event.

In a parallel life—surviving all past versions of himself—he’s a working stiff. At 14, he worked at Pizzaland, the pizzeria featured in the Sopranos' opening credits. After graduating high school, he climbed poles for the telephone company, worked for a car dealership under the title of salesmen, and then learned carpentry. He now spends his time working 60 - hour weeks as a restaurant manager while caring for his son. He and his son live in New Jersey. Incendiary Words: Sean On Fire is Sean’s first published book. He is currently writing a memoir and working on a fiction novel. He continues to approach life with fiery passion and unmitigated integrity, against all odds.
