Calvin Smith

Calvin (Cal) Smith (1930- ) was born in Tonawanda, New York, to Canadian parents visiting

relatives. He grew up in North Bay, Ontario, and spent thirteen years as an electronics instructor, Public Relations officer, National News and Features writer, and Special Assistant to Paul Hellyer, the Canadian Minister of National Defence. He became a scuba diver in 1959 and wrote diving columns and stories for Canadian daily newspapers and International magazines. And spent four years diving commercially for abalone and sea urchins along the deep, cold British Columbia coastline.

Cal Loves poetry and has published eleven softcover books of which six are poetry, plus eight ebooks. He refers to himself as "the Robert Service write alike" because of their style similarity.
