My newest book is based on a true-life story of a Polish immigrant girl’s never-ending fight for God, family, and country amidst the desperate, gritty lifestyle of an early 1900’s packing house town in an Omaha ethnic enclave called Sheelytown.
Projected finish date: December 2021.
Gary Koenig became a writer at an early age and has always been a storyteller. Contributing business articles, writing and publishing a sports magazine and general public "Boomer" publication, in addition to being a full-time copywriter/account executive, helped him set the stage for his successful advertising career as a business owner. Teaching part-time university courses also prepared Gary for his writing career.
In 2018 Gary finished his second book, The Commandant's Daughter, which is a life story based on the diary his grandmother wrote about her life as a Prussian socialite, front lines nurse in WWI, her lost love, and a marriage proposal to escape war-ravaged Germany,
Besides writing for all reasons, Gary enjoys tennis, cars, hiking in the mountains and his grandchildren where he lives in Omaha with his wife, Sue.
