Paula Alter and her husband, Ken, provide typing, graphic design and kibble to the inspiration and guiding force behind this book - Lake, P.I.

Paula and Ken were born sometime in the 20th Century and grew up in Bradford, Pennsylvania. Later in life, they relocated to the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina and fell in love with the allure of the mountains. For her day job, Paula is manager of NCWorks Career Centers in Franklin, Sylva and Bryson City. Ken feeds his love of all creatures great and small in his role of general manager at Paula's Pet Paradise, a tropical-themed pet resort in Franklin.

Speaking of Paula's Pet Paradise, this is where Lake, P.I.'s story began. Lake was a surprise (to all but her Mama Fontana) birth at Paula's Pet Paradise on September 28, 2018. As her Grandpapa Ken fielded phone calls and checked guests into their rooms, Mama Fontana gave birth to one lone, healthy puppy that survived her Mama's miscarriages.

From the time of her birth, Lake captured the interest and adoration of Paula's Facebook friends. Through nightly reports, Lake and Grandmama Paula shared stories of Lake's early weeks and later her investigations. At the encouragement of Grandmama Paula's Facebook friends, Paula started writing the story of Lake's first orbit around the sun which details Lake's evolution as a P.I. (puppy investigator) and her convoluted investigations.

Are Lake's books traditionally written and formatted novels? Not at all! They are chapter-divided blog stories, told through Lake's point of view and enhanced with delightful photos. Through Lake's stories, Grandmama Paula combines her love for fur children with a passion for writing.

Speaking of a love for all things great and small, Paula and Ken (who Lake affectionately calls "The Grands") have donated all proceeds from "Lake, P.I., My First Orbit Around the Sun" book sales to Noah's Ark Humane Society. Lake, P.I., wholeheartedly endorses their decision!

And now, Lake is sharing her wisdom and keys to success in her first journal, "Lake, P.I.'s Lakeadaisical P.I. Apprentice Journal". This journal is great for P.I. wannabe documentation or as a fun and different way for anyone to keep journal notes.
