Heather Dean

Heather Dean, Ph.D. is a lifelong teacher. She finds joy in the daily interactions of the classroom whether that has been in her experience as a junior high, high school or university teacher.

Much of her career was spent teaching English at the junior high and high school level. As such, she found the daily interactions with secondary students never left her without a funny or heartwarming story to share with friends.

Currently, she is an Assistant Professor of Teacher Education at California State University, Stanislaus where she has the privilege of working with future junior high and high school teachers. Heather has research interests in teacher retention, literacy education as well as understanding the best practices for training new teachers.
