Audy Popoola lives with her husband and three children in Upper Marlboro, MD. Growing up she was an avid reader who saw books as a way of escaping into worlds that could only be imagined. At Spelman College, she developed her skills as a visual artist by matriculating with a B.A. in Studio Arts. She then taught elementary and middle grade children, eventually switching careers to a Kitchen/Bathroom Designer. Even with a love of reading and storytelling, she did not seriously consider creating picture books and encouraging children with stories until later. She believes that all of these experiences make her a better creator. Now Audy enjoys writing and illustrating children's books that are whimsical, humorous and imaginative but with underlying topics that are educational, informative, encouraging, and emotionally nurturing.
FUN FACT: Audy also enjoys designing residential dwellings. As an artist her interest are varied but everything ties back to what she believes is important which is taking care of family and home.
