Carl D. Lang

Carl D. Lang has always been a true scientist with a fantastically creative imagination; spending his childhood digging for fossils and gazing at the stars in search of constellations under the grey skies of southern Michigan. He started his own scientific expeditions at a young age, testing the limits of what a magnifying glass could burn, and trying to catch the legendary 8-mile drainage monster snapping turtle. His room was a treasure trove of recent reads including the "Guinness Book of World Records", "The Hobbit", "The Farmer’s Almanac", "Chariots of the Gods", "To Kill a Mockingbird", and stacks of "National Geographic".

In college, his fervor for science continued as he worked hands-on with chemistry, physics, biology, and geology while enjoying late-night breakfasts at the local truck stop and the occasional Ouija Board session.

After college, Carl began a very short semi-pro basketball stint (barely competing against a bevy of future NBA talent) before he turned his attention onto a high-tech avionics career. Carl was always fascinated by what science could teach, and he has carried this passion into his adulthood, using it as the basis for all of his stories in hopes of stirring up the same curiosity and interests in the young adults that read his books.

Nowadays, between trail runs and writing, this imaginative author putters around the Department of Defense Ranges supporting the mission with the latest avionics and AI technology while waiting to hear his next sonic boom. He currently resides in the southwest desert, chasing archeological and paleontological wonders with his son, and Sophie, his curious Sulcata watch tortoise.
