I’ve been a fan of space exploration and Science Fiction ever since watching the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo missions as a child. My all-time favorite movie is “2001: A Space Odyssey,” followed closely by “Contact.” My favorite author is Arthur C Clarke, having read almost everything the man wrote. I’ve also enjoyed Science Fiction novels by Peter F Hamilton, Jack McDevitt, Alastair Reynolds, Stephen Baxter and fellow Canadian Robert J Sawyer, among others.

In the early 1970s, I began writing music and lyrics for what would eventually become a Progressive Rock concept album called“Dreams of Flying” that told a Science Fiction story about the colonization of space. There were numerous incarnations over the years, on reel-to-reel and cassette tapes.

Then, in 2006, I began rewriting and rerecording it using a digital audio workstation program on my computer, and by May of 2009, the 2-CD album was completed and I offered it on my website.

In late 2014 I began writing music and lyrics for a new Science Fiction concept album, tentatively titled “FTL”. Interspersed between the new material I repurposed a few unfinished compositions I had lying around, some of which were pushing 20 years old. As with“Dreams of Flying,” I play all of the instruments and sing all of the vocals on the album.

Halfway through recording, the title was changed to “Alien Dream,” and I began to consider the idea of writing a novella to accompany the album, expanding the story told in the lyrics. It was completed in January 2017 and self-published on Amazon Kindle.

When I finished it I knew there would be a sequel. It was somewhat of a cliffhanger, and a number of questions remained unanswered. So I set about continuing the story. This time I was not constrained by tying the story to the lyrics of a music piece. And, once again, there are still many unanswered questions. Therefore, I wrote Alien Revelation to complete the trilogy.

If you've been with me since I published the first book in the series, a heart-felt thank you! I apologize for how long it takes me to complete a book. I have a full-time job and other interests that compete for my time.

Now that the trilogy is complete, it's time to choose the next destination. I hope you'll join me!
