Ryan J. Lynch

Dr. Ryan J. Lynch is an Associate Professor of Middle Eastern History and the Director of the Honors Program at the Citadel, the Military College of South Carolina. A graduate of the universities of Oxford, St Andrews, and Stetson, he is a historian of the early Islamic Middle East.

In addition to his research interests on the Arab-Muslim conquests, the early Islamic states, and Arabic historiography, he also researches the (mis)appropriation of an imagined Islamic past in the 21st century.
