Celia Gaze is an entrepreneur and founder of The Wellbeing Farm. She worked in the NHS for 14 years in a senior management role, before reaching the verge of burnout and quitting her job to start her own business.
She used this as a springboard to transform her life by creating the multi-award winning wedding and events venue The Wellbeing Farm. Celia has won multiple awards for her innovative work and also recently won Implementer of the Year at the National Entrepreneur Awards. She is the author of the inspirational new book Why Put a Bowtie on a Llama? How a crazy idea can change your life and transform your business' which offers highly practical advice on turning your crazy idea into a successful business.
When I began this journey, I had no idea of all the problems I would face. During the course of my journey, I faced nearly every type of challenge – tribunals, near bankruptcy, court hearings, staff issues, system problems and survived to tell the tale. I also learned how to be resilient, patient and to embrace failure for the lessons it carries. I’m so proud of the success we’ve achieved at The Wellbeing Farm, and I wrote my book so that other people would be better prepared, and find their success sooner!
In my book 'Why Put a Bow Tie on a Llama' I share not only my personal story of overcoming personal challenges, but also how the 'crazy' idea of putting a bow tie on a llama transformed The Wellbeing Farm and I give tips on how to discover and implement the crazy idea that could transform YOUR business and life. The Wellbeing Farm (https://www.thewellbeingfarm.co.uk) is a bespoke wedding venue with a difference, set in spectacular countryside. It was transformed from a neglected hill farm in 2013 into the perfect venue for couples looking for a wedding day that is unique, fun-filled and completely magical.
The rustic barn and wedding pavilion are the ultimate romantic setting to say “I do” and the farm’s bow-tie-wearing llamas, alpacas and flat cap-wearing donkeys join in the celebrations too – making it an unforgettable day!
We have two stunning wedding houses, one even has its own lake and is the perfect setting for getting ready in the morning and for the wedding night. The venue’s three bars, including the famous horse trailer ‘Bar O’Llama serve everything from vintage cocktails to a fabulous selection of gins. While the beautiful woodland, mature gardens, llama boudoir, tennis court, tipi, firepit and garden games ensure guests have endless entertainment.
The venue’s approach is to help make planning a wedding as stress free as possible with wedding coordinators on hand to guide couples every step of the day – from finding the best room layout for you, to liaising with photographers to get the best sunset shot – ensuring you really do get a wedding with the WoW factor.
