Brigid Grauman

You can read all about "Uncle Otto's Puppet Theatre" and more on my website (brigidgrauman.com). It's the story of my Viennese-born Jewish family, spanning 150 years from Moravia to Vineland, New Jersey, with stops in London, Brussels, Zurich and Havana. Based on seven memoirs written by family members, it is also a story about identity, exile and loss.

I am a Brussels-based journalist and writer born in Geneva to an Irish mother and American father. For many years I edited The Bulletin, the well-regarded English-language newsweekly magazine, and have written regularly for the British and US media, reporting on subjects as diverse as the Roma, cyber-security, social policy and urban projects, as well as film, architecture, books and the visual arts.

The book has been warmly received on both sides of the Atlantic, and you can read the reviews on my website. My website, on brigidgrauman.com, tells you many more stories that didn't make it into the book.
