Monique Carroll

Monique Carroll, originally from Switzerland, lives in The Bahamas on the island of Eleuthera with her husband, two daughters and a house full of rescue pets. Monique became a yoga teacher in 1997 and has been teaching yoga up and down Eleuthera ever since. You may notice Monique on one of the beautiful beaches on Eleuthera, practicing yoga with her dog and blue-and-gold macaw.

Monique’s students describe her as a passionate teacher who makes everyone welcome and comfortable in class, and whose teaching adapts to her students’ yoga abilities, no matter what their age, gender or experience level. Some of Monique’s students say that they forget their age, as her classes are fun and full of joy with a touch of wisdom, to nourish body, mind and soul.

Monique is a talented illustrator. She has illustrated books such as “Grow Home, Little Seeds!” and “Blown away!”, both by Elaine A. Powers. Everyone loves her coloring books for children: “Eleuthera Coloring Book”, “Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve Coloring Book”, “Bahamas Coloring Book” and “Bahamas Yoga Coloring Book”. She is a cartoonist for the “Eleutheran” newspaper and her comic strip “Tail of the Gauling” has been running for the past few years.

Monique also uses her creative talents to make handmade items that are sold in several stores throughout The Bahamas. Her other passion lies in quilting, and she truly is a quilter at heart.
