Yingyi Ma

Yingyi Ma is an award-winning author and sociologist at Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs. She got her doctorate from Johns Hopkins University and bachelor's from Nanjing University. Her new book, Ambitious and Anxious, offers a multifaceted analysis of the wave of Chinese college students across American higher education based on research in both Chinese high schools and U.S institutions. She has also written for THE (Times Higher Edu) and Washington Post. She is a fellow of the Public Intellectuals Program of the National Committee on US-China Relations.
