The Reverend Canon Ted Karpf is an Episcopal priest, public health expert, and spiritual director with more than fifty years of service. He served as Partnerships Officer at the World Health Organization from 2004 to 2011, and was among the first faith leaders to respond to the HIV/AIDS crisis in America. He is a certified Gestalt therapist and longtime LGBTQ+ rights advocate. He currently serves at St. Bede's Episcopal Church in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he preaches and offers spiritual direction. His memoir, Acts of Forgiveness: Faith Journeys of a Gay Priest, is the story of a life lived inside contradiction with honesty, courage, and an unshakeable commitment to forgiveness as a way of living.
