J. Marcos Alonso

José Marcos Alonso (1967) was born in Gijón, Principality of Asturias, Spain. He received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees with honors in 1990 and 1994 respectively, both in electrical and electronics engineering from the University of Oviedo, Spain. Since 2007, he is a full Professor at the Electrical Engineering Department of the University of Oviedo. He has been working on power electronics systems for more than 30 years, with a special focus on lighting applications for discharge lamps and LEDs. He is a Fellow of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
